A couple of years back, when I was surfing the net I was wondering how all these things work Being a non IT student I thought I am not getting all the things because it is not a part of my study and subject. But as my curiosity grew, I decided to do things on my own. We all know that Internet is a place where nobody can restrict your thoughts and ideas. I shall get the whole world to interact with. the information that I am providing which is based on my experience and knowledge only and you may not agree with that. Today I am having more than 30 websites online of my own. These are created, designed hosted and maintained by me. On an average it costs around Rs.500/month for running one website. Each website can earn minimum Rs.800/month. So you can say that it is a hobby as well as an investment which capitalizes well. In webmasters term it is called Domaining.

Domaining is basically the business of buying domain names as an investment. When thinking about this business, a good approach is to think of domain names as real estate. Think of them as pieces of virtual internet-land that have some intrinsic value, where the majority of that value stems from their location and from their degree of development. Their "location" is akin to their visibility on the web. Short recognizable names have the best location, and so they are also the most expensive. The buildings on a piece of land are akin to a website developed at a domain name. The website is likely to attract visitors either through its content or functionality, and therefore increase the value of the domain name. There are some example of domain name which are sold for millions like business.com, fish.com, bike.com.

Like any mature property business, most of the valuable names have already been snatched up and are only available at a premium cost. Speculative names are gone for .com extension. A big difference in the domain world though is that new names with potential are available all the time, as new phrases and trends become popular, as old domain names expire, and as new technologies emerge.

Register any domain name cost you 2-9$/year based on which extension you are registered. Presently you will not find any single 3 character .com name. And if you want one it will cost you xxx$. Even it is very less possibility that you can get your name as domain name. All dictionary words are registered.

Many advertising companies like GOOGLE ADSENSE, YPN etc are paying very big bucks for placing their client's advertisement on individual webpage. I am carrying on this unusual hobby since last 2 years and have become very compassionate on the same. I work from my home from my own server and always feel, that my world is a bigger one.
